The negative effects of heavy metals on our body is overwhelming, but even more so when treating Lymes. So I decided to look into what Doterra had to offer. On the top of the list was Cilantro which can be used to chelate mercury, cleanse the gallbladder, and remove toxins!!
"Cilantro Oil is very effective as a Chelating Agent -- heavy Metals from brain and tissues of organs – Reported to be helpful with coronary heart disease – most effective with a full life style change. " http://www.oilsmentor.com/category/audio-files/

"nitty-gritty" Month Two
Month Two
My treatment rotates in two week intervals. Below I have listed the second four weeks. I am trying a three month stint of using DoTerra essential oils to treat my lymes. So far I have been feeling wonderful!!!
First two weeks
After two weeks of using the eight essential oils that I listed under "Second two weeks" in the post "nitty-gritty" I am rotating to two weeks off. This gives my body a chance to rest after all of the work the oils have been doing. It also allows those pesky spirochetes to come out of hiding so they can be destroyed!! During this time I use Lifelong Vitality, PB assist, and Aroma Touch technique. The Lifelong vitality increases my energy and glutathione production. The PB assist helps to keep my intestinal microflora in check after my long-term antibiotic use. The Aroma Touch technique helps boost my immune system, decrease inflammation , and decrease anxiety. With the Lifelong Vitality I take 6 xEO MEGA, 4 ALPHA CRS, and 4 MICOPLEX VMz daily. The PB assist I take one pill daily in evening. The aroma touch technique is done three times a week.

Doterra Lifelong Vitality
I can not say enough about this!! If I could only afford one thing this would be it. I have dealt with chronic fatigue for years and this has brought me back to the land of the living! It took about two weeks for me to notice a difference in my energy level but since then it is undeniable! There are times in life when I have felt like I just didn't have the energy to get better. This has done the trick! I take 6 xEO MEGA, 4 ALPHA CRS,and 4 MICOPLEX VMz daily.
Aromatouch Technique
This next item on my list I have only been doing for about two weeks but it has helped tremendously with my joint pain! I would say 80 % of my joint pain is gone when I use this technique consistently. My husband helps me with this three times a week. It takes between 30-45 minutes and helps with stress management, immune support, inflammatory response, and homeostasis. It was amazing the first time I had this done I could feel the stress on my body release and I felt immediate relief. The follow link will give you information on the aromatouch blend which is included in the kit below. http://www.oilsmentor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/AromaTouch-Information-Sheet.pdf
I put 3 drops of each of the following oils in a capsule daily and take in the evening: ( I included links to most of the following oils so you can view the benefits and protocols. Please note that they have multiple uses only a few are listed below)
OnGuard: Prevents viruses from multiplying
Thyme: Anti-bacterial
Rosemary: Breaks down biofilm
Melissa: Stops active infections
Frankincense: Anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory
Melaleuca: Breaks down biofilm
Cassia: Blocks communication between the bacteria cells
Oregano: Powerful antibiotic

Snap, Crackle, POP!!
I am a month and a half into my Doterra essential oil experiment with Lymes and I am feeling great. I was talking to my husband today and he was commenting that he has noticed how much better I have been feeling! I have had one new issue in the last month and I would love some feedback on this if anyone has any insight. Lately my joints have been popping. Not cracking but an extremely loud pop. It happens more on my bad days and it is not painful. I have done a little research and the only thing I can find is a few articles stating that it is caused by inflammation.

Why is Chronic Lyme Disease chronic?
I have had a lot of people ask me about Chronic Lyme and I thought this article from Columbia University did a wonderful job of explaining what is known and what is not about this mysterious disease. http://columbia-lyme.org/patients/ld_chronic.html
The post-infectious inflammatory hypothesis also is supported by several lines of evidence. For example, patients with Lyme arthritis who carry the HLA-DR4 or DR2 allele are more vulnerable to developing a chronic antibiotic-resistant arthritis. Indirect evidence exists to support molecular mimicry as at least one possible explanation for persistent symptoms. For example, the flagellin protein (on the tail of the spirochete) can generate antibodies that cross-react with myelin basic protein, thereby contributing to axonal dysfunction. Finally, remnants of pieces of the spirochete may result in a persistent activation of the immune system, causing the production of interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor, and nitric oxide. These cytokines produce fatigue and malaise, two of the more prominent symptoms experienced by patients with chronic Lyme disease.
It is reasonable to assume that some patients suffer from persistent infection whereas others suffer from immune-mediated post-infectious damage. Until more is known about the factors which identify who may respond to repeated treatment and who is unlikely to respond, clinical decisions will be based on physician preference rather than objective data. Longer vs shorter duration placebo-controlled antibiotic trials need to be conducted with long-term blinded follow-up using objective markers. Until then, the optimal treatment of the patient with chronic Lyme Disease will be unknown. At this point in medical history, decisions about the treatment of the patient with chronic Lyme disease need to be individually shaped by the clinician's experience, the patient's clinical profile and history of antibiotic responsiveness, and the emerging medical literature.
Why is Chronic Lyme Disease chronic?
Several factors may account for persistent symptoms. These include low grade persistent infection which either causes damage directly or indirectly through the inflammatory and toxic effects of an activated immune response, permanent damage as may occur in brain injured patients, or a Lyme-triggered autoimmune reaction. The persistent infection hypothesis is based on several lines of evidence. Clinical case reports and large clinical series indicate that some patients benefit from longer and repeated courses of antibiotic therapy. Published reports indicate that, even after antibiotic therapy, persistence of the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi may be demonstrated by either culture or demonstration of Bb DNA by PCR analysis in animals (mice, dogs) and humans. While positive cultures despite antibiotic treatment were reported early in European Lyme disease, in the United States there is only one reported case of confirmed Bb growth by culture after treatment (Liegner et al). The mechanisms of persistence and immune evasion are thought to include sequestration in intracellular or other immunologically privileged sites, antigenic variation, decreased expression of surface antigens in vivo, capture of the host-cell's own membrane forming a virtual immunoprotective cloak, and/or early down-regulation of the immune response. Much in vitro evidence now exists to demonstrate that Bb can lodge intracellularly in human endothelial cells, astrocytes, fibroblasts, and macrophages. Bb in vitro has been shown to enter B Lymphocytes and to exit drawing with it the outer surface membrane of the lymphocyte. Bb in vitro can modify its shape into potentially cyst-like forms; these forms however at present are of uncertain significance. These findings suggest that failure to eradicate Bb completely by antibiotic therapy may be due to intracellular localization in vivo, the selection of resistant strains, or sequestration in sites (such as the central nervous system) where antibiotic penetration may be less adequate.
Why Lifelong Vitality?
I knew I needed to write a post about DoTerra Lifelong Vitality and it's amazing benefits. So I am going to highlight a few of the key things I have noticed since I started taking this product. I HAVE ENERGY again!!!! I was so fatigued before starting this supplement that I would need to take a nap after folding just one load of laundry. If you think I am exaggerating I am not. If you have Lymes you understand! I now feel like I can function again. This week I went shopping one day with a friend, worked two eight hour shifts at work, and still had energy to cook and clean. I wouldn't say I am 100% but I haven't felt this good in years! The other major benefit I have noticed is mood stabilization. As long as I am constant in taking this product, the ups and downs that I typically experience have significantly decreased! I found this video. It is a bit lengthy but it is a must watch!! It explains more than I ever could!

"The Antioxidant Amino Acid"
Glutathione: "The Antioxidant Amino Acid"
Glutathione is a mixture of amino chain acids that helps to protect your body from free radicals and detoxify chemicals from your cells. You many wonder what this has to do with Lymes. Dr. Horowitz explains in "Why Can't I get better", "Neurotoxins produced by the Borrelia spirochete, or Lyme disease bacterium, also interact with heavy metals in our cells. All these chemicals in our bodies cause inflammation, and glutathione seems to act like a sponge that pulls them out." So how do you increase Glutathione? Well there are a couple ways: You can get IV's, take oral supplements, or use essential oils. I have chosen to use essential oils! Citrus oils enhance Glutathione production and essential oils are easily absorbed into the blood stream! I currently use the following DoTerra products to increase my Glutathione production:
I usually put the lemon and wild orange oils in my water and drink it during the day. The other two product I use as outlined in my "Nitty Gritty" Post.

Why spicy food??
The last few days have not been good as far as my Lyme symptoms go, however I have had much worse days in the past. Over all I am feeling so much better than when I was on antibiotics but my body is still fighting. Those of you who know me well know that when I am not feeling well I crave spicy food. As I was polishing off a jar of jalapeños tonight I started to wonder why.. I always attributed it to the fact that my mom ate spicy food when she didn't feel well. I thought it was a family trait that was passed down. I came across this article tonight and found it to be very interesting and right on the money!! I personally "love order, dislike wasting time, and sweat the detail". I find the more worked up I get emotionally or the worse I feel physically the spicier the food should be.
